The relationship between Kevin Pearce and Shaun White went from close friends to top rivals as the 2010 Olympics approached. As world class snowboarders, they pushed each other to excel and began to take more extreme risks as the sport evolved. Pearce endured a near fatal accident that left him in a coma and facing daunting rehab, while White went on to medal in the Olympics. The film follows their training and relationship, and focuses on Pearce’s recovery after his accident. His compassionate family went to extreme’s to support and help him get over his injuries, and this film showcases the risks and reality of extreme sports.
WHY I LOVED THIS MOVIE:
Boarding was Pearce’s passion, but it nearly cost him his life. This movie provides a clear lens to the high class athletes of today. His tight knit family supported his rise and fall, but Pearce wants to solely control his destiny on the slopes regardless of the dangers he will face.
