Owen Suskind was diagnosed with Autism at age 3. As he became lost in his own world, his parents discovered his unique connection to, and obsession with, Disney films. Through the use of Disney characters, his family helped to bring Owen a new direction in life, and become as functional as possible. Owen’s father is a journalist who previously wrote for the Wall Street Journal, and he and his family are committed to the best life possible, both for their family and for Owen
This film was nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the Academy Awards, and won best Direction at the Sundance Film Festival.
